Acne Treatment in Andheri West, Mumbai
What does The SkinTalk Clinic actually treat? Acne doesn’t have one cause, so it shouldn’t have one treatment. That’s the starting point Dr. Pooja Chopra, a dermatologist in Andheri West, Mumbai, works with every acne patient who walks in after two or three products that never quite worked.
Most people don’t need another cream. They need someone to figure out what’s actually driving their breakouts, and that’s where treatment begins at her clinic.
“Most patients who come to me have already tried two or three products on their own,” says Dr. Pooja Chopra. “My job isn’t to hand them a fourth one. It’s to find out what’s actually causing the breakouts, so the treatment finally matches the cause.”

What’s Really Behind Your Acne
Acne shows up for different reasons in different people. Hormones, stress, bacteria, clogged pores, or even the wrong skincare product can all trigger it. Sometimes it’s a mix of two or three things at once.
That’s why a cream that worked for your friend might do nothing for you. The trigger is different, so the fix has to be different too.
“I’ve seen the same breakout pattern get treated three different ways in three different patients,” says Dr. Pooja. “The skin looks similar on the surface. What’s happening underneath usually isn’t.”

Every acne treatment plan starts with a proper skin examination. Dr. Pooja checks your skin type, the kind of acne you have, and whether there’s any scarring or dark marks left behind. Then she asks about your routine, your lifestyle, and what you’ve already tried.
Only after that does she build a plan. It might include topical treatments, oral medication, chemical peels, or in-clinic procedures. Some patients need just one of these. Others need a mix.
Treating Acne Scars and Pigmentation
Active breakouts are only half the problem for a lot of patients. The marks left behind – scarring, dark spots, uneven texture – can bother people even more than the acne itself.
Scar treatment at The SkinTalk Clinic is planned only after the acne itself is under control, since treating scars too early can interfere with active breakouts. Once the skin has stabilised, Dr. Pooja assesses the type of scarring – icepick, boxcar, rolling, or post-inflammatory pigmentation – and recommends an approach accordingly. This may include laser treatment, microneedling, chemical peels, or a combination of procedures, depending on scar depth and skin type.
For select cases, the clinic uses the YouLaser MT, a dual-wavelength laser combining CO2 and 1540 nm technology, and was the first in Mumbai to bring in this device. It’s one of several options considered, and is recommended only where it’s genuinely the right fit after examination.
